The Beechcraft Premier 1A is a light jet business aircraft manufactured by the Beechcraft division of Hawker Beechcraft. The aircraft was officially launched at the annual National Business Aviation Association Convention in September 1995 and FAA Type certified in March of 2001.
The Premier’s cabin is one of the largest in its class, with the cabin height and width both meaning 5.5 ft. The first four seats are fully articulating, and the Premier’s pressurization is 8.4 psi, allowing an 8,000-foot cabin at the airplane’s certified maximum altitude of 41,000 feet.
The fuselage of the Premier 1A is made of a high-strength carbon fiber/epoxy honeycomb composite. The composite material is strong yet a thing, and the thinness of the fuselage is the reason for the cabin’s spaciousness. The Premier’s cabin was designed with contoured headroom for maximum passenger comfort as well as fold-out tables on both sides of the aircraft, LED lighting, and fully reclinable seats. Also available are various cabin entertainment systems. The Premier also has 77 cubic feet of combined baggage space available.
The swept wings of the Premier help to minimize drag, increase cruise speed, and have high altitude capabilities. The enlarged wing also adds an additional 250 pounds of fuel. Even with the added weight Premier still manages short takeoff distances to be able to use small airports.
